Registered Nurse ( RN ) 7pm - 7am Shift Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as the 7pm-7am Shift Supervisor for our nursing services department. In this leadership role, you will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of nursing services during the night shift in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. You will work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest practicable level of quality care is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing department programs and activities
• Develop and implement methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services, such as activity programs
• Implement plans of action to correct deficiencies
• Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charts, and other documentation
• Supervise resident care and conduct compliance rounds throughout the shift to ensure quality of care and address problems as necessary
• Conduct tours and obtain essential information for possible admissions
• Inform staff of new admissions, ensure rooms are ready, greet new residents, and escort them to their rooms
• Ensure equipment, medication, treatment, and other supplies are available for new admissions
• Supervise Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurses, LPNs, and Med Tech staff as applicable
• Assist in counseling, evaluating, and terminating nursing services personnel with guidance from the Administrator and Director of Nursing
• Ensure schedules and work assignments, including vacation and holiday schedules, are implemented to maintain adequate staffing and manage call-ins
• Perform other duties as assigned or as circumstances require

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing, meeting all applicable federal and state licensure requirements
• Minimum 3 years of nurse management or supervision experience
• Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other healthcare-related facility in a position of responsibility
• Knowledge of general nursing standards of care and medical practices
• Ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Excellent nursing assessment, documentation, and written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literacy and knowledge of electronic documentation systems
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
