Saint Joseph Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Rheumatology Clinics in Denver and Northglenn, Colorado. In this outpatient clinic role, you will provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and care coordination with the interdisciplinary team. You will work Monday through Friday with no weekends, nights, or holidays, and may float between the two clinic locations based on patient and clinic needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental factors as appropriate
- Seek and evaluate information from patients, families, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Use critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plans of care with patient, family, team, and physician involvement
- Plan and prepare patients for follow-up support needs, including teaching and referrals
- Direct interdisciplinary care through delegation, coordination, and collaboration
- Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan of care, professional guidelines, and licensure provisions
- Prioritize and coordinate patient care delivery while managing time, supplies, and resources effectively
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions and revise the plan of care as indicated
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice and comply with regulatory standards
Clinical Setting
You will work in two outpatient rheumatology clinics:
- Saint Joseph Hospital Rheumatology - Denver, 1830 Franklin Street, Suite 300, Denver, CO 80218
- Saint Joseph Hospital Rheumatology - Northglenn, 11900 Grant St, Suite 220, Northglenn, CO 80233
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- No weekends, nights, or holidays
- 40 scheduled weekly hours
Required Qualifications
- Current active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Colorado. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to Colorado within 60 days of employment start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers
- Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire date
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Current clinic RN experience or a minimum of one year of acute inpatient experience in cardiac care
Note: As of the job description's last update on April 27, 2025, a BSN is required. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements in place at the time of their hire or promotion.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to see and read information, labels, and patient needs; operate monitors; and identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, families, care providers, and visitors; ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, and needs quickly and accurately, particularly during emergencies
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision; frequent computer use and typing for documentation and medication preparation
- Ability to lift and use full range of movement to transfer patients; bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting and ambulating patients; obtain and distribute supplies and equipment; push and pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords
- May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods
Compensation
Hourly range: $35.22 - $53.29 (actual rate dependent upon experience)
