Registered Nurse PRN (Werlein Crisis Stabilization Unit)

The Registered Nurse (RN) PRN provides nursing care, treatment, and support to clients at the Werlein Crisis Stabilization Unit. This role focuses on medication administration, patient observation, documentation of physical and mental status, and contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals living with mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing functions within the scope of the RN license
• Administer medications and provide education and training to patients and families
• Observe, oversee, and monitor the use and implementation of Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) interventions, ensuring they are implemented appropriately and safely with proper documentation
• Provide guidance to direct care staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic treatment atmosphere
• Train direct care staff on essential nursing care interventions, facility policies and procedures, and management guidelines
• Participate in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment
• Ensure infection control, security, and safety measures are followed
• Document patient care services clearly and accurately using correct grammar
• Educate and instruct individuals served
• Contribute to seminars and meetings for professional growth and improved team communication

Required Qualifications

• Nursing degree (Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's in Nursing)
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas
• Valid Texas state Driver's License and auto insurance
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
• CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) training must be completed and maintained within the first 3 months of employment

Compensation

• $36.55 per hour
