The opportunity

Job Description

Piqua Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents in our long-term care facility. In this role, you will administer medications, treat wounds, perform medical procedures, and supervise nursing assistants while developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treating wounds, and performing various medical procedures
  • Supervise and direct the activities of assigned STNAs, ensuring high-quality resident care
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Conduct daily rounds to assess resident conditions and identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor resident conditions and report changes or concerns to the Nurse Supervisor and Unit Manager
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance overall care quality

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in this state
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures relevant to nursing care facilities
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities
  • Leadership and supervisory ability
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Ability to work as a supporting team member and contribute to team concept
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents served
