Registered Nurse - Perioperative Transition

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children seeks a Registered Nurse for the Perioperative Transition department, which provides surgical procedures and care in an outpatient setting. You will provide nursing services for patients requiring medical treatment that can be managed without overnight hospital admission, working alongside general and specialized surgery professionals in a state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care
• Support Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery for surgical patients
• Function as an associate to a charge nurse and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities
• Work in a team-oriented environment with skilled, knowledgeable healthcare staff

Clinical Setting

The Perioperative Transition department is an outpatient surgical setting at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Hawaii's only maternity, newborn, and pediatric specialty hospital. The facility serves patients throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Region.

Schedule

• Day/Evening shifts
• 8-hour shifts
• Full-time regular position (1.0 FTE)

Required Qualifications

• Current Hawaii Registered Nurse license
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• One year of recent registered nurse experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery in a hospital or ambulatory surgery acute care setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of recent registered nurse experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery in a hospital or ambulatory surgery acute care setting
• Perioperative experience with both adult and pediatric patients

Compensation

• Pay range: $53.17 - $70.89 per hour
• Rate of pay determined by knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience, training, and internal peer equity
