Registered Nurses at San Francisco AIDS Foundation's Magnet at Strut clinic provide direct patient care in a nurse-led sexual health clinic serving diverse communities. This per diem position offers the opportunity to deliver culturally competent, stigma-free sexual health services including STI and HIV screening, PrEP and nPEP management, and HIV testing counseling.
Clinical Setting
Magnet at Strut is a nurse-led clinic located at 470 Castro Street in San Francisco. The clinic may occasionally require travel to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface with clients seeking screening for sexually transmitted infections, PreExposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and non-Occupational Post Exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP) services
- Provide direct clinical services including specimen collection, high-volume phlebotomy, administration of treatments, management of PrEP and nPEP care, and performance of point of care lab tests
- Conduct client counseling and education
- Work with Magnet at Strut staff and volunteers to ensure quality of care
- Provide referrals to outside providers as appropriate
- Serve as a clinic leader and assist in coordination of clinic operations, flow, and client care
- Complete detailed documentation of reports and clinical services provided
- Perform other professional or administrative duties as required
Schedule
This is a per diem position with a maximum of 20 hours in any given week. The position includes weekday, weekend, and evening shifts. Ideal per diem candidates will be able to work 4 shifts per month.
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse License (must be maintained as active with the California Board of Nursing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers
- Current California Certification as an HIV Counselor, or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of one year of work in an outpatient sexual health setting
- Associate Degree in Nursing minimum
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, Russian, Cantonese, or American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to work comfortably with diverse populations and sensitivity to issues concerning HIV and all disabilities
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $51.92 - $64.90 per hour
