Registered Nurse - Peds CTCU

Join UCSF Health as a Registered Nurse in our Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (CTCU), where you will provide specialized nursing care to children with complex chronic medical conditions, including those with congenital heart disease and post-cardiac surgical needs.

You will utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, you will carry out established nursing procedures and manage patient care for pediatric patients with complex medical needs. You will work collaboratively with other nursing team members and assist with the management of patient care as needed.

Clinical Setting

This position is based in a Pediatric Transitional Care Unit at UCSF Health. You will have the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in a Pediatric Transitional Care Unit
• Previous experience caring for pediatric cardiac or congenital heart disease patients
• Experience managing patients with complex chronic medical conditions
• Knowledge of congenital heart defects and common postoperative cardiac surgical and cath care
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current PALS certification
• Current BLS for healthcare provider CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN)

Licenses and Certifications

• Active California RN license
• Current PALS certification
• Current BLS for healthcare provider CPR certification
