Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center. This role provides nursing care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, as well as non-oncology medical patients receiving infusion services. You will apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, coordinate with the healthcare team, and support patients and families through education and treatment planning.
Clinical Setting
The position is based in the CHOC Hem Onc Clinic and Infusion Center within Vanderbilt Health, part of an eight-hospital, 180+ clinic academic health system in the Mid-South region.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum
- Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis
- Continually utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment
- Provide patient and family education
- Effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team
- Participate in establishing patient goals and evaluate progress to ensure effective outcomes
- Engage in learning activities according to Board of Nursing standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license
- One year of nursing experience
- Graduate of an approved nursing program
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum five years of nursing experience
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Choice of (4) 10-hour shifts or (5) 8-hour shifts per week
