Registered Nurse - Pediatric OR (BCH-Mission Bay)

This position is a Registered Nurse role in the Pediatric Operating Room at UCSF Health's Mission Bay location. You will provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to pediatric surgical patients using the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, performing established nursing procedures and caring for patients with complex needs with appropriate assistance and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Perform circulating duties in the operating room
• Manage laparoscopic surgical cases
• Assist with patient care management coordinated by other nursing team members
• Carry out established nursing procedures and related duties as required
• Maintain knowledge and abilities essential to the role
• Fulfill legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent full-time inpatient Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
• Proficiency in laparoscopic surgery
• Proficiency in circulating duties
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently and under pressure
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong scrub experience
• General Surgery, Ortho, or Neuro experience
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) specialty certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
