Registered Nurse - Pediatric OR (BCH-Mission Bay)

This position is a Registered Nurse role in the Pediatric Operating Room at UCSF Health's Mission Bay location. You will provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to pediatric surgical patients using the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, performing established nursing procedures and caring for patients with complex needs with appropriate assistance and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Perform circulating duties in the operating room
• Assist with laparoscopic surgical procedures
• Carry out established nursing procedures and related duties as required
• Function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams
• Assist with management of patient care administered by other nursing team members
• Maintain knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors
• Carry out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent full-time inpatient Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Proficiency in laparoscopic surgery
• Proficiency in circulating duties
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong scrub experience
• General Surgery, Ortho, or Neuro experience
• Specialty Certification – CNOR
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification
