Registered Nurse, Pediatric Operating Room, Full-Time, Days, Wolfson Children's Hospital

Wolfson Children's Hospital, the region's only children's hospital and a U.S. News & World Report-ranked facility, is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Pediatric Operating Room at the Wolfson Surgery Center. This is a full-time day shift position with 40 hours per week and no call coverage or holiday call requirements.

As a Circulating Nurse in the Pediatric Operating Room, you will serve as the patient's primary advocate during the intra-operative period. You will meet patients in the OR, remain with them throughout their procedure, and ensure appropriate care until transfer to PACU. Your role involves coordinating and preparing assigned rooms and cases, assessing patients, anticipating case needs, and performing accurate documentation. You will verify patient information, position patients, manage the room, and initiate counts. You must demonstrate knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and sterilization processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare assigned operating room and case
• Assess patients and anticipate needs based on the scheduled procedure
• Perform accurate and complete documentation of intra-operative care
• Verify patient information and positioning
• Manage the operating room environment
• Initiate and maintain surgical counts
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and sterilization processes
• Serve as patient advocate throughout the surgical procedure

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of perioperative nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Active Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Operating room experience or completion of Periop 101 class

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Compensation and Benefits

• Sign-on bonus eligible, up to $5,000
