Job Description

Join CentraCare Monticello Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where you will provide specialized care to patients as they safely recover from surgery. You will work collaboratively with the Surgical Services team to ensure continuity and quality of care, contribute to staff education, and support the advancement of clinical practices.

Clinical Setting

The PACU is a specialized surgical recovery environment where patients transition from anesthesia to full consciousness and stability following surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to post-operative patients
  • Monitor and assess patient recovery from anesthesia and surgery
  • Collaborate with the Surgical Services team to promote continuity of care
  • Contribute to staff education and clinical practice advancement

Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring 56 hours every two weeks. You will work Monday through Friday with variable start and end times. The role includes rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call shifts on an off-premise basis with a 30-minute response requirement.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for on-call purposes
  • Ability to respond onsite within 30 minutes when on call
  • Demonstrated communication skills with ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Surgical Services experience

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is based on education and experience:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing: starting at $41.32 per hour
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: starting at $42.56 per hour
  • Master's Degree in Nursing: starting at $43.84 per hour
  • Pay range: $41.32 - $68.11 per hour
