Registered Nurse, Outpatient Services

Jackson Purchase Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Outpatient Services in Mayfield, Kentucky. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a 107-bed, Joint Commission-accredited facility that has been voted Hospital of Choice by patients and team members four of the last six years.

Clinical Setting

Jackson Purchase Medical Center provides a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including the New Beginnings Birthing Center, the Advanced Healing Wound Care Center, and an accredited chest pain center. You will work in the outpatient services department, supporting both emergent and elective patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities
• Document patient care provided
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and families; provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education
• Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts and units as needed
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

Certifications Required Within Six Months of Hire

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience
