The opportunity

Job Description

IU Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a part-time float position supporting ambulatory care across multiple Primary Care and Specialty clinic locations in the Metro area. As a float nurse, you will have no fixed work location; assignments vary based on organizational needs and may be communicated weeks in advance or as late as the morning of the shift.

This role requires flexibility and adaptability across diverse clinic settings. You will support smooth patient flow, assist with examination procedures, collect patient information, perform general lab work, provide patient education, offer clerical support, and complete triage duties.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • No weekends
  • No holidays
  • No on-call duties
  • Potentially hybrid depending on clinic needs

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of RN experience
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction
  • Understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Triage experience
  • Two to three years of clinical experience
  • Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit or department specialty according to patient care policies
