IU Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a float position supporting ambulatory care across multiple outpatient clinics in the Metro area. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties required.
As a float nurse, you will have no fixed work location and will support all IUHMG Metro Ambulatory locations across both Primary Care and Specialty clinics. Assignments vary based on organizational needs and may be communicated weeks in advance or as late as the morning of the shift. The position is potentially hybrid depending on clinic needs.
Responsibilities
- Assure smooth patient flow
- Assist with examination procedures
- Collect patient information
- Perform general lab work
- Provide patient education
- Offer clerical support
- Complete triage duties
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- No weekends
- No holidays
- No on-call duties
- Flexibility required as assignments may vary and be communicated with short notice
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of RN experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction
- Understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Two to three years of clinical experience
- Triage experience
Additional Requirements
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit or department specialty according to patient care policies
