Registered Nurse OR PRN

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This position is part of VBJ OR within Vanderbilt Health, the region's largest comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics.

You will apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care in the operating room setting, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. You will effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team, collaborate in establishing patient goals, and evaluate progress to ensure effective outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum
• Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnoses
• Continually utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe, healthy environment
• Provide patient and family education
• Conduct patient assessments and evaluations
• Gather pertinent clinical data to aid in referral, treatment, and other care pathways
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing work experience
