The opportunity

Job Description

Trinity Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room at our newly renovated surgical suite. This 16-bed OR includes a hybrid operating room equipped with advanced medical imaging devices such as fixed C-Arms, CT scanners, and MRI scanners that enable minimally-invasive surgical procedures. You will work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care in a Magnet-designated facility with active shared decision-making councils.

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 12-hour day shift
  • 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the OR is set up correctly before surgical procedures
  • Set up the surgical area, laying out instruments and supplies according to surgeon preferences
  • Check all equipment needed during procedures to verify proper functioning
  • Verify patient identity, necessary consent forms, and review the site and nature of the procedure with the OR team
  • Provide the surgical team with sterile fluids and medications as needed during operations
  • Replenish surgical team supplies with additional disposables or instruments as needed
  • Serve as patient advocate while patients are incapacitated during surgical procedures
  • Facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active license in the State of Michigan
  • Prior nursing experience required

Education Requirements

  • If hired in Grand Rapids with an ADN, you must enroll in a BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete it within 4 years of hire
