Job Description

Trinity Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Operating Room, a newly renovated 16-bed surgical suite equipped with advanced imaging technology including hybrid operating rooms. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art surgical environment supporting minimally-invasive procedures and traditional surgical cases.

Clinical Setting

Our surgical suite features recently renovated facilities and hybrid operating rooms equipped with fixed C-Arms, CT scanners, and MRI scanners that enable minimally-invasive surgical techniques. These advanced imaging capabilities allow surgeons to perform procedures through small incisions using catheters and endoscopes, reducing patient trauma while maintaining visualization of complex anatomical structures.

Responsibilities

Before surgical procedures:

  • Ensure the operating room is set up correctly according to surgeon preferences
  • Set up the surgical area, laying out instruments and supplies
  • Check all equipment to verify proper functioning
  • Verify patient identity, review consent forms, and confirm the surgical site and procedure with the OR team

During the operation:

  • Provide the surgical team with sterile fluids and medications as needed
  • Replenish surgical supplies, disposables, and instruments
  • Serve as patient advocate while the patient is incapacitated during surgery

You will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care, facilitating all aspects of the patient visit experience.

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Day shift: 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
  • Prior nursing experience required
  • If hired in Grand Rapids with an ADN: must enroll in a BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete within 4 years of hire

Preferred Qualifications

Benefits

  • 403(b) retirement plan
