The opportunity

Job Description

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room to work three 12-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities. In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care, maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. You will maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.

Schedule

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • On-call duties required

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
  • Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure in the state where nursing duties are performed
  • Compliance with all state board of nursing requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion within 30 days of hire

Additional Certifications

One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the specific unit or position, or must be acquired within the department's required timeframe:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
