Registered Nurse, Operating Room, PRN, Baptist South

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room at Baptist South. This is a PRN day shift position in the Surgical Services unit. The role requires on-call availability with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay.

As a Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room, you will be the patient's primary advocate during the intra-operative period. You will work closely with physicians and operating room teams to deliver and document patient care. Your daily responsibilities will vary based on scheduled surgeries—you may work with a single patient in a complex case or multiple patients undergoing shorter procedures.

Responsibilities

• Meet patients in the OR and remain with them for the duration of their procedure
• Verify patient information and ensure appropriate positioning
• Manage the operating room environment
• Initiate and maintain surgical counts
• Transfer patients to PACU care
• Deliver and document intra-operative patient care

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing
• 2-3 years of Surgical Services experience
• 2-3 years of Critical Care Nursing education
• Active Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Conscious Sedation Certification
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
