Registered Nurse - Operating Room MUSC Orangeburg FT Days

Join the Operating Room team at Medical University Hospital Authority in Orangeburg, SC as a Registered Nurse. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical environment supporting a wide range of procedures including robotic surgery, general surgery, trauma, cancer, vascular, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, and cataract surgeries. You will provide circulating and/or scrub nurse services during surgical procedures and assist the surgical team as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and assist in patient assessment
• Monitor medical condition of patients and report changes to appropriate personnel
• Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust nursing care processes as indicated
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures related to direct patient care
• Write initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individual care plans for patients in the OR
• Demonstrate sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy while maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and comfortable environment
• Orient, train, and instruct assigned personnel
• Maintain accuracy of patient medical records and required reports, statistics, and documentation
• Demonstrate knowledge of all equipment, procedures, and ADRN standards and practices

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in South Carolina or compact state
• CPR certification
• ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in scrubbing and circulating in the operating room
