Registered Nurse Operating Room

HCA HealthONE is hiring Registered Nurses for the Operating Room across eight premier locations in the Denver metro area, including Swedish, Sky Ridge, Presbyterian St. Luke's, Rocky Mountain Children's, Rose, Aurora, Centennial, and Mountain Ridge. Clinical Setting

You will work in a modern operating room environment with continuous investment in surgical instruments, devices, and patient positioning equipment. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including surgeons, providers, surgical technologists, and other surgical staff.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and perioperative process
• Prepare patients for surgery, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification protocols including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols according to hospital policy
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as an integral member of the dynamic interdisciplinary surgical team
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and thoroughly document changes in patient condition and care provided
• Educate patients and families or caregivers about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up measures

Schedule

• Self and preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for schedule predictability
• On-call is required during select non-business hours

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum one year of experience in the perioperative (OR) setting
• ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification

Compensation

Hourly wage estimate: $36.68 - $55.53 per hour. Actual salary may vary based on specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
