The opportunity

Job Description

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room, working an evening shift from 2pm to 10pm. In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care, maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. You will maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

Schedule

  • Evening shift: 2pm to 10pm

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
  • Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed
  • Compliance with all state board of nursing requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion within 30 days of hire

Certifications

  • BLS certification is required at hire
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required based on the position or unit; if required, must be obtained within the department's specified timeframe
  • Additional unit-specific certifications may be required, which may include: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses), OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization), S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules, or C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
