Registered Nurse- Operating Room Bayfront (FT, evening)

Join UCSF Bayfront Operating Room as a Registered Nurse in this full-time evening position. You will work in a 14-suite surgical facility with 2 procedural rooms and a 23-hour surgical stay capability, supporting a multidisciplinary team-based approach to patient care. This role focuses on advanced surgical technology, including integrated suites and robotic surgery across multiple specialties.

Clinical Setting

The Bayfront OR serves patients across multiple surgical specialties including Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Plastics, Pain Service, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, General Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Robotics. Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and abilities essential to safe nursing practice within the scope of the California Nurse Practice Act
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care
• Function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams
• Carry out established nursing procedures and perform related duties as required
• Provide nursing care for patients with complex needs with assistance and supervision
• Assist with management of patient care administered by other nursing team members
• Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and foster a harmonious work environment
• Promote cooperative working relationships with physicians, other disciplines, and the public through effective communication, honesty, respect, and cultural sensitivity

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of recent RN clinical experience in an adult operating room in an outpatient setting
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current healthcare provider CPR BLS or ACLS certification
• Proficiency to independently circulate all case types within at least three of the following services: Ophthalmology/Cornea/Retina, GYN/Robotic, GU/Robotic, General Surgery/Robotic, OHNS/Airway, or MIS Spine
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
• Knowledge and abilities essential to successful performance of assigned duties

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
• Proficiency in scrubbing role in at least 2 of the listed surgical services
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• RN sedation certification
