Registered Nurse - Operating Room (40 Hours- Nights)

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a full-time night shift (40 hours per week). This position is based in Brockton, Massachusetts.

You will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across all age groups in a fast-paced surgical environment. Your responsibilities include assessing patient needs, delivering direct patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary surgical team, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes and comfort. You will work with patients who may have diverse needs including hearing or sight impairments, non-English speaking backgrounds, substance abuse histories, or potential abuse situations. You will be responsible for health maintenance, patient teaching, counseling, and collaborative care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care addressing the specific needs of diverse patient populations
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and clinical evaluations
• Delegate nursing tasks to other registered nurses and healthcare personnel as appropriate, while maintaining full responsibility for patient outcomes
• Communicate and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure quality care
• Lift, transfer, and move patients as required
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills in a high-acuity environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• BLS certification
• Previous operating room nursing experience
• Excellent assessment and clinical skills
• Strong organizational abilities
• Proficiency with computer systems, specifically Epic
• Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients
• Verbal and written English language proficiency
• Ability to perform mathematical computations required for treatment protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation range: $38.86 to $80.77 per hour
