The opportunity

Job Description

Sanford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology unit at Sanford Broadway Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. This part-time position offers the opportunity to care for medically complex oncology patients, including those with hematology conditions and bone marrow transplant needs. The oncology unit specializes in providing compassionate, individualized care while supporting patients through all stages of cancer treatment and management.

Clinical Setting

The Oncology unit is a fast-paced environment focused on the evolving science of cancer treatment. You will work with a team of world-class physicians and have access to ongoing educational opportunities to advance your clinical expertise. The unit supports professional development, including pathways to oncology certification, chemotherapy training, and bone marrow transplant certification.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate patient care, including assessment, education, triage, and nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians and colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Provide empathetic care for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Demonstrate competency and apply comprehensive nursing expertise in clinical practice

Schedule

  • 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Part-time employment
  • 24 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accredited)
  • Current, unencumbered RN license with the North Dakota State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure through the Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Ability to obtain and maintain department-specific competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
