Registered Nurse - Occupational Health - School Nurse

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a School Nurse position at David Ellis Academy West in Redford, Michigan. This role focuses on occupational health nursing within a school setting, promoting, protecting, and restoring student and staff health while maintaining an autonomous nursing practice aligned with AAOHN domains and Michigan nursing practice standards.

Schedule

• Part-time, 32 hours per week
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Schedule follows the school calendar; the position is off when the school is closed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of accumulated nursing experience within the last 5 years, OR new graduate status with completion of 1,200 verified hours of employment within the last 12 months
• RN diploma or degree from an accredited School of Nursing
• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification
• High level of initiative and sound independent nursing judgment
• Analytical ability to address complex problems
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge and comfort with computer systems (Windows, MS Word, Office)
• Completion of core competencies in Occupational Health Nursing Services

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• ABOHN certification (COHN, COHN-S, COHN-S/CM, or similar)
• CAOHC Audiometric certification
• Respiratory Fit certification
• Breath Alcohol certification (BAT)
• Prior experience in occupational healthcare
• Continuing education credits in occupational health nursing
