Franklin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Obstetrics department on a per diem basis. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients in accordance with FMC Standards of Care. You will be responsible for patient assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and advocating for patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for all assigned patients and develop individualized plans of care with measurable, achievable goals
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient health status, including subtle changes requiring immediate intervention
- Implement individualized care plans proficiently, demonstrating clinical nursing skills and maintaining safe, therapeutic environments
- Delegate aspects of care to other personnel consistent with their job descriptions and skill levels
- Provide patient and family education relevant to health care needs, treatments, procedures, and hospital policies
- Initiate and implement discharge planning at the time of admission, preparing patients and families for transitions in care
- Evaluate and modify patient care plans on a continuing basis, comparing expected outcomes with actual patient responses
- Communicate pertinent patient information clearly and concisely while maintaining confidentiality
- Act as an advocate for patients and families, representing their needs to physicians and healthcare team members
- Assume accountability for management of patient care and provide direct supervision to other health team members
- Participate in quality assurance and research activities
- Identify professional educational needs and participate in continuing education programs
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required by the end of orientation
- ACLS certification required by the end of orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $37.98 to $62.87 per hour, with a midpoint of $50.43. Actual salaries may vary based on relevant experience. New hires typically start in the lower part of the range.
