Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Indiana is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift at our 40-bed specialized rehabilitation facility in Mishawaka, Indiana. We provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services to patients recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit
  • Conduct patient assessments and plan nursing interventions
  • Supervise and evaluate care designed to prevent complications of physical disability
  • Restore optimal functioning and help patients adapt to altered lifestyles
  • Integrate the hospital's mission and guiding principles into daily practice

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards set by The Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Knowledge of clinical operations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Critical thinking skills
  • General computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and record management
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work professionally with others
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • One year of recent experience in acute care setting
  • ACLS certification (preferred for LTACH and Texas hospitals)
  • CRRN or CCRN certification
