Registered Nurse

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our long-term care and rehabilitation facility to join our newly building nursing team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment where your clinical contributions are valued and recognized.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a long-term care and rehabilitation facility serving adult and geriatric residents with diverse clinical needs.

Schedule

• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents while maintaining standards of nursing practice within the facility
• Address the physical, psychosocial, and rehabilitative needs of residents
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific developmental factors relevant to adult and geriatric populations in planning and delivering care
• Provide specialized nursing care for residents with therapeutic, neurological, dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, and wound care needs as applicable
• Ensure resident safety and well-being in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Work collaboratively with the Shift Supervisor, Head Nurse, Resident Care Coordinator, and interdisciplinary team
• Adjust to changes in unit and shift assignments to meet resident and facility needs
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation
• Attend all mandatory in-service training by your employment anniversary date

Required Qualifications

• Current active Registered Nurse license in the State of New York
• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing
• Previous long-term care experience required
• Successful completion of facility-conducted orientation and mandatory training programs
• Meet health assessment requirements, including two-stage Mantoux skin test
• Listed in good standing with the New York State Department of Professional Credentialing
• Excellent technical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
• Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a long-term care setting
• Organizational skills in a long-term care setting
• Completion of facility-conducted orientation on specialized dementia units

Licenses and Certifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse license required
• Compliance with New York State license renewal requirements
