Registered Nurse New Graduate (RN) - PCU

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a new graduate registered nurse to begin your nursing career in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. You will provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, with care assignments matched to your competencies and experience level. During your introductory period, you will complete all established competencies required for the position while working under minimal supervision.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients based on patient needs and nurse competencies
• Complete all established position competencies during the introductory period
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire

Required Certifications and Courses

• AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for adult critical care, telemetry, or interim critical care units (should be completed before the end of the orientation period)
• AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for pediatric ICU (should be completed before the end of the orientation period)
• AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for NICU
• S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU Level 2 Nursery: must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit (renewal not required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Two years of acute care experience
• Previous clinical nursing experience in medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU settings
