  • Healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC or AHA on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days
  • AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire (for adult critical care, telemetry, interim critical care units)
  • AHA PALS within 60 days of hire (for pediatric ICU)
  • AHA NRP within 60 days of hire (for NICU)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU Level 2 Nursery within 6 months of hire

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Two years of acute care experience
  • Clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing
  • Clinical experience in telemetry
  • Clinical experience in ICU

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a new graduate registered nurse to begin your nursing career in a neuro specialty setting. You will provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, matching their clinical needs with your developing competencies. During your introductory period, you will complete all established competencies required for the position while working under minimal supervision.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
  • Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Two years of acute care experience
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU settings

Certifications and Courses

  • AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (for adult critical care, telemetry, or interim critical care units). Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
  • AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (for pediatric ICU). Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
  • AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (for NICU).
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU Level 2 Nursery: Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit. Renewal is not required.
