  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing

Licenses

  • Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

Certifications

  • Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days
  • AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire (Adult ED)
  • AHA PALS within 60 days of hire (Pediatric ED)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire
  • ENPC within 18 months of hire (Pediatric ED)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Two years of acute care experience
  • ENPC certification (Adult ED)

This position offers new graduate registered nurses the opportunity to begin their nursing career in a fast-paced emergency department setting. You will provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients, matching their clinical needs with your developing competencies. You will complete all required competencies for the position during your introductory period and work under appropriate supervision as you transition into independent practice.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency department
  • Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
  • Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 60 days of hire

Additional Required Certifications

For Adult Emergency Department:

  • AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire (should be completed before the end of the orientation period)
  • AHA PALS within 60 days of hire (should be completed before the end of the orientation period) - Note: PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire

For Pediatric Emergency Department:

  • AHA PALS within 60 days of hire (should be completed before the end of the orientation period)
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire
  • ENPC within 18 months of hire
