Clinical Setting

Couplet Care combines labor and delivery with postpartum and newborn care, allowing you to care for mothers, babies, and families throughout the birthing experience. You'll work within a comprehensive Baptist Health System that includes six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital, and extensive support services across the region.

Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, you will:

  • Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on matching patient needs with your clinical competencies
  • Complete all established competencies for the position during your introductory period
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
  • Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS certification within 60 days of hire (should be completed before the end of orientation)
  • AHA NRP certification within 60 days of hire (should be completed before the end of orientation)
  • Fetal Monitoring certification: GNOSIS Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring within 30 days of hire, and AWHONN Intermediate Heart Monitoring within 8 months of orientation
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Level 2 Nursery certification within 6 months of hire (proof of prior completion or obtain during employment; renewal not required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Two years of acute care experience
  • Previous clinical nursing experience
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (required for nurses with more than one year of L&D experience; must be obtained on hire or within first 90 days)
