Registered Nurse New Graduate (RN) - Couplet Care

This position provides nursing care for couplet care patients (mother and newborn) under minimal supervision. As a new graduate RN, you will be assigned a group of patients matched to your competencies and will complete established competencies for the position during your introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for assigned couplet care patients
• Match patient needs with nursing competencies
• Complete position competencies during the introductory period
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
• AHA ACLS certification within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
• AHA NRP certification within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
• Fetal Monitoring certification: Novice RNs must complete GNOSIS Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring within 30 days of hire and AWHONN Intermediate Heart Monitoring within 8 months of L&D orientation
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Level 2 Nursery certification within 6 months of hire or transfer date (renewal not required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Two years of acute care experience
• Previous clinical nursing experience
• Experienced L&D RNs (greater than 1 year experience) should have AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring on hire or within the first 90 days of hire
