Saratoga Hospital's Intensive Care Unit is seeking Registered Nurses for a comprehensive one-year residency program designed for new graduates. This full-time position combines clinical practice with structured educational seminars focused on professional development, quality, patient safety, evidence-based practice, and the professional nursing role in critical care.

As a resident nurse in the ICU, you will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients while developing advanced clinical competencies under mentorship. You will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, therapeutic interventions, medication administration, IV therapy management, and pain management. You will communicate effectively with patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, and leadership using evidence-based communication frameworks such as SBAR. Documentation must be complete, timely, and concise.

You will employ critical thinking skills to analyze patient data from multiple sources, support clinical decision-making, and solve problems using evidence-based practice. You will engage in relationship-based care that centers patients and families in all care processes, protecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights while advocating for their needs. You will manage your own workload and material resources effectively by prioritizing care needs and adapting to changes in patient condition and assignments.

You will apply leadership skills appropriate to your role and experience level, coordinate care within the interdisciplinary team, and actively participate in professional practice through committees, councils, or professional organizations.
