Erlanger Health is seeking Registered Nurses for an ANCC-accredited Nurse Residency program with the next cohort beginning January 2027. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working standard hours of 36 per week at Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
This residency program is designed for new graduates and RNs with less than one year of experience to smoothly transition into professional nursing practice. You will receive comprehensive clinical training, classroom instruction, peer support, and mentoring to help you succeed in clinical practice and achieve your career goals.
Program Features
- Advanced clinical classes including Critical Care Course, Acute Care Course, Periop 101, and Pediatric Didactic
- Clinical rotations in a variety of units before committing to a home department
- Meetings with hospital experts on topics related to patient outcomes, leadership, and professional development
- Educational seminars throughout your first year of employment
- ANCC Accredited Practice Transition Program designation

- Pediatrics: Emergency, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, Surgery, and Acute Care
- Adult Acute Care/Med Surg: Cardiac, Oncology, Trauma, Neurology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedic, and Renal
- Adult Progressive Care: Cardiac Step Down Unit, Trauma Step Down Unit, eSTAR Surgical Unit
- Women's Services: Labor & Delivery, Mother & Baby
- Surgical Services: Perioperative Nursing
Clinical Setting
Erlanger is a multi-hospital health system anchored by a leading academic medical center serving as the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center. Children's Hospital at Erlanger is a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center offering pediatric subspecialists, a pediatric emergency department, pediatric ICU, and a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing prior to employment
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and eligible to take the NCLEX for Registered Nurse Licensure at time of hire
- Proof of graduation from accredited school of nursing (final transcript, diploma, or letter stating NCLEX eligibility and test date)
- BLS certification completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
Licensure Timeline
- Spring graduates must obtain Tennessee RN licensure by October 1st
- Summer graduates must obtain Tennessee RN licensure by January 1st
- Winter graduates must obtain Tennessee RN licensure by May 1st
