Job Description

This position is part of the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and is designed for newly graduated registered nurses who have not yet obtained their RN license. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed RN at North Temple Clinic, an urgent care setting, while you prepare for and take the State Boards examination. This is a temporary position lasting up to 12 weeks, during which you will gain clinical experience in patient care delivery while completing your residency program requirements.

You must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program before beginning direct patient care. After 12 weeks, or if you do not pass the State Board exam, you will no longer be able to remain in this Nursing Graduate position. You may then apply for other open positions you qualify for, including positions requiring certifications you currently hold (such as CNA). Failure to pass boards or secure another position will result in termination.

  • Complete accurate documentation under the direct supervision of the RN

  • Observe the implementation of the patient plan of care, considering specialized needs including physical, emotional, and social needs, age, and ethnic origin
  • Report patient responses to treatments and collaborate with the RN regarding changes requiring modification of nursing interventions
  • Participate in patient and family education needs under RN supervision, as determined by assessments, patient diagnosis, learning readiness, and patient or family requests
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for patient care delivery within your defined role, routinely observing and discussing all aspects of care with the RN
  • Practice legally and ethically under RN supervision, comply with regulatory standards, complete accurate documentation, and maintain confidentiality
  • Achieve RN licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and complete all orientation, training, and Nursing Residency program requirements
