Registered Nurse New Graduate Fast-Track Application/Nurse Residency Program – Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring newly graduated Registered Nurses for a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program designed to support your transition from nursing school to professional practice. This program is available across all units at the hospital, including Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health.

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is a 145-bed Certified Primary Stroke Center featuring advanced healthcare technologies, including emergency heart catheterization, all-inclusive obstetrics care, advanced imaging, and smart operating rooms. The hospital holds Magnet recognition, the nation's highest honor for excellence in nursing.

Program Overview

The Nurse Residency Program is automatically available to all newly hired graduate nurses with less than 12 months of RN experience. After completing your orientation, you will begin a structured 6-month residency program that includes:

• Hands-on clinical experience alongside trained preceptors across six specialty areas
• Topics covering career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management
• Support and mentorship throughout your transition to professional practice

The program is available at all 12 Sentara hospitals, with no separate application or application deadlines required.

Schedule and Shifts

Multiple shifts are available across all units and statuses.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice experience

Compensation

• Competitive starting salary: $36.00 hourly
• Sign-on bonus for all new-to-practice RNs
• Additional compensation may be available, including shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities
