Sentara RMH Medical Center, a 238-bed Magnet-designated community hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is seeking newly graduated Registered Nurses to join its Nurse Residency Program. This fast-track opportunity is designed specifically for RNs with less than 12 months of experience who are transitioning from nursing school to professional practice.
Sentara's Nurse Residency Program provides comprehensive support to help new graduate nurses successfully transition into clinical practice. The program includes automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses with no separate application or application deadlines. You will begin your residency immediately after completing orientation.
The residency offers six months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors across six clinical areas: Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. Throughout the program, you will receive education and support in career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
Sentara RMH Medical Center serves a seven-county area with a population of 218,000 residents. The hospital has been serving the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County communities since 1912 and is part of the Sentara Health System. The facility features the RMH Hahn Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center, and handles approximately 1,800 deliveries, 60,000 emergency patients, and 21,000 surgical procedures annually.
Multiple shifts are available across all units currently placing new graduate Registered Nurses.
The base pay range for full-time employment is $36.00 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, including shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. All new-to-practice RNs receive a sign-on bonus.
