Registered Nurse New Graduate Fast-Track Application/Nurse Residency Program – Sentara Princess Anne Hospital

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is hiring newly graduated Registered Nurses for a structured Nurse Residency Program. This position is open across all units and shifts at the 174-bed acute care hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia, which specializes in orthopedic and spine care, heart and vascular services, advanced imaging, gynecological care, comprehensive breast care, and family maternity with a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital is a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

Program Overview

Sentara's Nurse Residency Program is designed to support newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience in their transition to professional practice. There is no separate application or application deadline—all newly hired graduate nurses are automatically enrolled.

The residency includes six months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors across six clinical areas: Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. In addition to clinical training, the program covers career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice

Schedule

Multiple shifts are available.

Compensation

The base pay range for full-time employment is $36.00 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, including shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. All new-to-practice RNs receive a sign-on bonus. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
