Registered Nurse New Graduate Emergency Dept

St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse New Graduate for the Emergency Department. This is a full-time position working 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.). As an ER RN, you will provide rapid and skilled care to patients arriving at the hospital seeking emergency medical attention. Emergency nurses play a critical role in delivering emergent and urgent care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly
• Follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions
• Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain
• Assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions in cases of severe illness or trauma, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care
• Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively, remaining calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events
• Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program
• Must take and pass the NCLEX-RN within ninety days of graduating from an accredited nursing program
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current status

Compensation
