This position offers an excellent opportunity for a new graduate registered nurse to begin your nursing career in the Emergency Department with a focus on psychiatric patients. You will provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, matching their clinical needs with your developing competencies. This role includes a structured introductory period to help you complete all required competencies for the position.
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in the Emergency Department Psychiatry setting
- Work under minimal supervision while developing clinical competencies
- Complete all established competencies for the position during the introductory period
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification within 60 days of hire
Additional Required Certifications
- AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire
- AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire (should be completed before the end of the orientation period)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) within 1 year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Two years of acute care experience
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification
