Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Neurology Movement Disorders unit. In this full-time role, you will provide direct patient care, assess patient conditions, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and implement nursing interventions to support positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care provided by support personnel for assigned shifts
- Perform ongoing assessment of assigned patients and their significant others, including biopsychosocial and learning needs
- Identify changes in patients' physiological conditions and communicate patient status to multidisciplinary team members
- Communicate directly with patients and families about nursing care
- Provide clinical interventions to meet patient needs
- Contribute to the plan of care in coordination with the patient care coordinator
- Monitor and document patients' responses to therapeutic interventions and progress toward outcomes
- Document the nursing process and assimilate information from multiple sources to implement appropriate action plans
- Ensure safety and security of patients, significant others, and staff
- Demonstrate cost-effective approaches to patient care regarding equipment, supplies, and resources
- Follow established policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Follow research protocols for assigned patients
Required Qualifications
- Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligibility in the State of Illinois
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BLS CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience
