Registered Nurse Neurology Movement Disorders Full time

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Neurology Movement Disorders unit. In this full-time role, you will provide direct patient care, assess patient conditions, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and implement nursing interventions to support positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care provided by support personnel for assigned shifts
• Perform ongoing assessment of assigned patients and their significant others, including biopsychosocial and learning needs
• Identify changes in patients' physiological conditions and communicate patient status to multidisciplinary team members
• Communicate directly with patients and families about nursing care
• Provide clinical interventions to meet patient needs
• Contribute to the plan of care in coordination with the patient care coordinator
• Monitor and document patients' responses to therapeutic interventions and progress toward outcomes
• Document the nursing process and assimilate information from multiple sources to implement appropriate action plans
• Ensure safety and security of patients, significant others, and staff
• Demonstrate cost-effective approaches to patient care regarding equipment, supplies, and resources
• Follow established policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Participate in quality improvement activities
• Follow research protocols for assigned patients

Required Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligibility in the State of Illinois
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• BLS CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience
