Registered Nurse - MG3 Med/Surg - Days

St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for MG3, a 26-bed telemetry unit with all private rooms. This part-time position provides direct and indirect care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those in isolation, with suicidal ideation, or with behavioral health needs. You will work a 12-hour day shift (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) with a patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient learning needs, readiness to learn, and barriers to learning; incorporate patient education into daily activities based on age, cultural, and spiritual values
• Document admission assessments, reassessments, care plans, interventions, and medication use; monitor effects and outcomes according to policy
• Use the information management system to enhance communication and document changes in patient condition to appropriate individuals
• Prioritize work assignments based on changing clinical situations
• Communicate transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during interprofessional rounds
• Recognize and integrate patient special needs; individualize care and demonstrate knowledge of abuse recognition and referral
• Include pain management and supportive care in the plan of care
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Pennsylvania RN license
• AHA BLS certification
