Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical unit in Clarksville on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to achieving positive patient outcomes within an academic health system setting.
Clinical Setting
You will work within VCH Med/Surg, part of Vanderbilt Health's eight-hospital system serving the Mid-South region. The medical/surgical unit provides care across the continuum of patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum
- Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnoses
- Utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes
- Employ strategies to promote health and maintain a safe, healthy environment
- Execute job responsibilities with understanding of how your work impacts related areas and teams
- Provide informal guidance and support to team members
- Communicate effectively, modifying your communication style to suit different situations and audiences
- Seek to understand patient and stakeholder needs and customize services accordingly
- Engage in dialogue about quality and promptly address quality issues
- Apply learning experiences to identify underlying causes of problems and develop solutions
- Understand all aspects of providing a safe environment and perform routine safety checks
- Demonstrate accountability and ownership of critical issues
- Make data-driven decisions
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning new technologies and procedures

Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific nursing program
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing work experience
