Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical(MEDSURG)

Ogallala Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical Unit on a contract basis. You will provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients, including postpartum care as needed. This role involves delivering safe, coordinated nursing care using the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a hospital setting.

Clinical Setting

• Medical-surgical unit in a community hospital
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and postpartum patients
• Interdisciplinary team collaboration required

Schedule

• Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekends and holidays required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients
• Deliver postpartum care as needed
• Apply the nursing process to coordinate safe patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska or Compact)
• Current BLS certification
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Ability to provide postpartum care as needed
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Meet facility background and clearance requirements, including CPS/APS clearance if applicable
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills

Compensation

• Pay rate: $55 – $57 per hour
• Estimated weekly pay: $1,980 – $2,052

Additional Requirements

• Navy scrubs and navy warm-up jacket required
