Registered Nurse, Main Operating Room, Full-time Days, Weekends, Baptist Downtown

Baptist Downtown is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Main Operating Room. This is a full-time day shift position working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with two shifts on Saturday and Sunday and the third shift variable to be discussed during the interview.

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. You will check in and receive patient assignments, with your day varying based on scheduled surgeries. You may work with a single patient in a complex case or with multiple patients having shorter procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work as a Circulating Nurse, meeting patients in the OR and remaining with them for the duration of their procedure
• Serve as the patient's primary advocate and ensure appropriate care until transfer to PACU
• Verify patient information and positioning
• Manage the operating room
• Initiate counts and deliver intra-operative patient care documentation

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing
• Licensed Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 2-3 years of Surgical Services experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Conscious Sedation Certification
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
