Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN

Join the Missouri Veterans Home as a PRN Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, serving the state's veterans in a dedicated long-term care setting. This position offers the opportunity to provide direct nursing care to veterans while working flexible PRN (as-needed) shifts.

Clinical Setting

You will work at a Missouri Veterans Home, providing care to veterans in a residential healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of veterans and ensure services are consistent with their care needs
• Implement veteran MDS assessments and care plans according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of patient status, and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician's orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician with appropriate follow-up observations
• Assist veterans with various needs including transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing, and showering
• Assist veterans upon admission and discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff

Required Qualifications

• Active licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, in good standing
• Recent graduates of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of the first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing

Compensation

• LPN Hourly Pay: $22.44
• RN Hourly Pay: $33.65
• No benefits provided
