Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 7Ks Inpatient Rehab Facility at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. This is a part-time, night shift position providing professional nursing care to designated patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.

Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every third weekend
  • Rotating holidays

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients
  • Recognize the need for and initiate collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve patient needs
  • Synthesize available data, information, and knowledge to make decisions that optimize patient outcomes based on ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and safety in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing evidence-based practice
  • Participate in evidence-based practice and research projects as applicable
  • Use effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, families, visitors, staff, and professional colleagues
  • Coordinate and provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to facilitate effective transition of care
  • Function as a department team member to support unit and hospital goals and objectives
  • Participate in all phases of the performance improvement process, including organizational and unit-based patient experience goals
  • Perform validated technical skills based on clinical specialty and unit practice
  • Utilize technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery
  • Demonstrate leadership and team building skills including teaching and mentoring new colleagues and department interns, delegating based on team member skills and expertise, and providing input for performance appraisals of care delivery team members

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program
  • Knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care
  • Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty
  • Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies
  • Basic computer skills
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification upon hire
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs, including pushing/pulling patients on beds and stretchers (requires 29 lbs. push force) and lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of patient weight
  • Frequent to continuous standing and walking
  • May be required to perform kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR as specific to role requirements
